Today is day of the child in Panama. Beatrice was given a wonderful goodie bag in the Deli Baru full of treats some of them surprisingly healthy, like an apple. Thank you Deli Baru.
Meanwhile, in the house, our plans to celebrate day of the child were thwarted by a menstruating maid. Yes, apparently, you can not make good dulces if you have your period....they just won't turn out right. Sure enough, they did not. The recipe was a tried and tested one, the Spanish translation a bit rough but adequate. In my opinion, it was a measuring problem not a bleeding one, too little flour.
So, I guess nothing sweet for a week a month. Probably not such a bad thing after all.
