Today was a holiday. A little gift from the government to honor an ex-Presidents death. A little gift paid for by employers and cheap political capital.
I agreed to give one worker five un-supervised extra hours for extra cash, cutting grass and moving stones for a new raised rose bed. Unsupervised because I was out of town for the day.
Four sacks of grass take around one hour. The rocks, well, not overly impressed. On the other hand supervising rock piles is even less enticing than supervising digging holes. Who in their right mind would be an employer here? Well, thats the problem with Panama in a nutshell.
