All the young lads looking for Christmas money joining in today. Some of them not great pickers and taking the stalks with them. There is only one problem with this, and that is for me - no flowers next year.
At this point in the season who would think I would be giving coffee picking lessons. Oh well.....and the whole business just got a lot less profitable overnight.
After picking just getting $6 per lata or 30lbs of cherries. That works out 20 cents per lb of cherries. Or we the grower, are costing you $1.6 per lb of green. .....not so much. Such is life as a coffee farmer who sells cherries.
