Every farm or blend has its own peculiar roasting characteristics. I was finding my green beans took off in the roaster faster than we expected. Reaching higher temperatures and roasting darker ahead of other coffees that had been recently profiled by my hosts. Now we know.
As would be expected, most of the different and nicer flavors were experienced best at the light/medium roast. That said, the City Roast was very respectable. The very dark roast just tasted of starbucks/burnt to me, my least favorite coffee, but at the end of the day some people like that too. My dad for instance.
Best morning cups of coffee in a long time. Coffee cake and bagels were very good too. Not part of a professional cupping set up but for me no better way to enjoy my morning coffee!
